ShringVoice FAQs

ShringVoice Frequently Asked Questions

Obviously I can keep my existing telephone numbers, yes?

Yes, of course. There is a process called “porting” — the transfer of your existing numbers to Shring. There are very rare occasions where you can’t port your numbers, and there are options to deal with it. But again, we rarely have issues.

How does ShringVoice work?

ShringVoice uses Voice over IP (VoIP) technology to deliver your calls over your existing internet connection. Your phones connect to our hosted platform in the cloud, so there’s no on-site PBX hardware to maintain.

How does Long Distance work?

ShringVoice plans include unlimited local and long distance calls within the US and Canada. International calling is available at competitive per-minute rates.

Do you support my existing SIP hardware?

In most cases, yes. ShringVoice is compatible with a wide range of SIP-enabled phones and devices. Contact us and we’ll verify compatibility with your specific hardware.

What about 911 Emergency Service?

ShringVoice supports Enhanced 911 (E911) service. We require that you register your physical address so emergency services can locate you if needed.

Your “Follow Me” feature is intriguing — tell me more!

Follow Me / On-Demand Call Routing lets you redirect your calls to any phone — cell, home, or office — on demand or by schedule. Never miss a call regardless of where you are.

Should I be concerned about security? If my calls are in the cloud, can others listen in?

ShringVoice uses encrypted connections for all calls. Our infrastructure is built with security as a priority, using the same standards employed by enterprise telephony systems.
